Ali

Ali obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Sharif University of Technology (Iran) in ‘04. He was a postdoc at the Institute for Scientific Interchanges (Italy) in ‘05. In ‘06-07, he was awarded a PIMS postdoc fellowship (Canadian Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences) and joined the Institute for Quantum Information Science (IQIS) at the University of Calgary. Since ‘08, he has been a postdoc associate at the USC Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology (CQIST) and Department of Chemistry, working jointly with Daniel Lidar and Paolo Zanardi.

Ali’s recent research interests within quantum information science include adiabatic / geometric / topological quantum computations, characterization / control of open quantum systems, and quantum phase transitions.
