Brian is a PhD student in physics, currently studying extensions of quantum information measures to non-Hermitian systems. He joined the group in Spring 2023, after previously working with Professor Paolo Zanardi. He previously studied at US Berkeley, where he got dual BS in Engineering Physics and EECS and MS in EECS. At Berkeley, Brian worked in the group of Professor Birgitta Whaley using neural networks to map energy landscapes for molecular dynamics simulations. His research interests include Lieb-Robinson lightcones, operator scrambling, open quantum systems and quantum computational complexity.
