Mario Morford-Oberst

Mario joined Professor Lidar’s group in November of 2023 as a PhD student in the ECE department at USC. Mario received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico in 2021, where he first started exploring his interests in quantum information science. After graduating from UNM, Mario spent a year working on research conducted at Sandia National Labs centered in quantum error correction under the direction of Kenneth Rudinger, Tzvetan Metodi, and Andrew Landahl. Mario’s current research interests include quantum control, open quantum systems, quantum error correction, and FT quantum computing.
